How much does it cost to eat in Dénia: à la carte and menu price guide

Before sitting down at the table, it's good to know what you're going to pay. We review, section by section, the real prices of El Mosset's à la carte menu and its set menus.

One of the most common questions before going anywhere is simple: how much will it cost me? In Dénia there are restaurants for all budgets, and it's not always easy to know this beforehand. That's why in this guide we review, section by section, the prices of El Mosset's à la carte menu and its sharing menus. These are the prices listed on the menu (VAT included), so you can plan without surprises.

An important note: prices may change over time or with the market. If you want to confirm something specific, always check the updated menu or ask by phone.

What influences what you pay when eating out

Before getting into figures, it's good to be clear about what makes a meal more or less expensive. In almost any restaurant in Dénia the same thing happens:

  • The type of meal: a sandwich almuerzo is not the same as a meat or fish dinner.
  • The product: acorn-fed Iberian ham, red tuna, or Santoña anchovies cost more than a common cured meat, and it shows in the price.
  • Tapa or portion: ordering tapas allows you to try more things while spending less on each.
  • À la carte or menu: a fixed menu gives you a price per person known in advance.
  • Drinks and dessert: add up to more than it seems, especially in a group.

Sandwich prices

The 31 sandwiches are the heart of the house. The vast majority range between 7.90 € and 9.20 €. At the extremes are the Curro Jiménez (serrano ham with virgin olive oil, 6.60 €) and the Pata Negra (acorn-fed Iberian ham with EVOO, 15.80 €). If you want gluten-free bread, it's 1.50 € extra.

Sandwich Filling Price
Curro Jiménez Serrano ham with virgin olive oil 6,60 €
Sobrao Grilled sobrasada and cured pork shoulder 7,80 €
Brut Spencer Chicken breast, camembert and tomato 7,90 €
Torrente Serrano ham with Manchego cheese and tomato €8.00
Homer Chicken breast in homemade marinade, camembert cheese and Italian pepper €8.10

Toasts, tomatoes and bar

Toasts with tomato and EVOO

They are the most economical option for a light almuerzo or for snacking. They range from toast with tomato (€2.20) to acorn-fed ham toast (€15.00). In between you have Manchego cheese or fresh cheese (€4.30), Serrano ham or Galician lacón (€5.30) or Santoña anchovy (€6.70).

Tomatoes from La Marina or El Perelló

Tomato with avocado, garlic and onion costs €5.50 / €8.50 (tapa and portion) and tomato with flame-grilled capellanes, €10.00 / €16.00. Combinations with salted fish or cheeses are €18.00, and the most complete, with capellán, dried bonito, roe and mojama, at €20.00. If you want to know more about this product, we tell you about it in our guide on Marina tomatoes.

From the sea and the bar

Mushroom stuffed with camembert and lacón, 2 pcs. 6.80 €
Padrón peppers with rosemary 7.50 / 15.00 €

Roasts and rice dishes by order

The house roasts have a fixed price: roasted suckling goat leg (€24.00), roasted suckling goat shoulder (€32.00) and whole roasted rack of ribs for 2 or 3 people (€50.00). The roasted suckling pig goes according to market, so it is advisable to ask.

Desserts

Homemade desserts almost all range between €4.50 and €7.50; only the portion of hazelnut crunch with chocolate mousse reaches €8.00. For example, «Heladería Verdú» ice creams (€4.50 / €5.00), traditional torrijas (€6.00), Montgó honey cheesecake, gluten-free (€7.00) or the special dessert from «Pastelería Vimar» (€7.50).

Prices of sharing menus

If you prefer to know from the beginning what you are going to pay, the menus are the most comfortable option. The price is per person, with a minimum of 2 diners and a single menu per table. Drinks are not included.

Menu Price per person
Tapas Menu €13.00
Fun Menu €17.00
Rotas Menu €18.00
Vegetarian Menu €20.00
Vintage Menu 22,00 €
Rustic Menu 24,00 €
Dénia Menu 26,00 €
Mosset Menu 30,00 €

You can see what each one includes in the section of sharing menus de la portada, y si dudas entre varios, en nuestra guía para elegir menú para 2, 4 o un grupo los comparamos uno a uno.

What does not appear with a price on the menu

For your calculation to be complete, take into account these items, which do not have a fixed price on the menu or are added separately:

  • Drinks. They are not included in the menus and are paid separately, just like when you eat à la carte.
  • Rice dishes and traditional cuisine by order. Stew, Tolosa beans and the four rice dishes are consulted when ordering them.
  • The roasted suckling pig, which goes according to market.
  • The gluten-free bread supplement, of €1.50 per sandwich.

With these four things in mind, the menu gives you a very accurate idea of what you are going to pay. If you are a large group, the most practical thing is to call and discuss what you have in mind: this way they can guide you between à la carte, menu or custom order.

Five ideas to eat well without going over budget

  1. Order in tapa format. With several tapas you try more dishes and control spending better.
  2. Choose a fixed menu. You know the price per person from the beginning.
  3. Combine a sandwich with something to share. It's a complete meal and usually works out cheaper than a main course per person.
  4. Reserve expensive products to share. A portion of ham or red tuna among several looks better and works out better per person.
  5. Ask what goes according to market. This way you know the price before ordering it.

With this you already have a pretty clear idea of what it costs to eat at El Mosset, a restaurant in Dénia center where you can go from a simple almuerzo to a celebratory meal.
